BUILDING AN AUTHENTIC VOICE FOR MARKETING

An authentic voice in marketing can help you win over new and retain existing business. Voice is often attributed to personality but can include frequency, tone, and the use of certain words or vocabulary.

An authentic voice for any business should be a priority as the space for gaining customer attention is crowded and over-saturated in most industries today. So, while we've noted what voice is, what does the authentic part mean?

I enjoy staying connected to people. Even this small crowd of subscribers gives me energy for what is happening in life. It is a great time to reflect. Last week I was in a town called Margaret de Mar in Spain for work. I work for a tech company called Littledata which is based in the UK and has an app used by 1,500 online merchants tracking on Shopify and BigCommerce.

We run two off-sites a year with our staff of about 40 people in different locations where we meet in groups and staff runs learning sessions on our specialty areas. It is an investment for our organization but a considerable part of our culture.

Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen
